Tree Steward Training: Peninsula Tree Stewards are planning a Tree Steward training program for the coming winter. Master Gardeners are eligible for Tree Steward training after they have completed their first year of MG volunteer hours. Classes will probably start in January, 2009 and will be held once a week, starting at 9:00 AM and running until approximately 12:00 noon. The program will last about 14 weeks, and will include a mid-term and final examination, both of which will be take home and open book. The fee for the course will depend upon the costs of the text book(s) still to be decided, but we will try to keep those costs under $150. Graduates will be expected to participate in a project of their own design and there is an annual expectation for contribution of service hours. If you think you may be interested in this program, please send your name, telephone number and e-mail to Sue Liddell scliddellmg@verizon.net.
